Concept Development- Glass city

In the book Dorothy and The Wizard in Oz, the city is described as towering buildings made of glass. To try and achieve this I have experimented with opacity and lighting in contrast with the background.

So I've started with a simple sketch showing lines for perspective, lighting, and shot angle. This is the same setting as my last painting, yet I've tried to use an interesting camera angle, instead of the panoramic wide angle seen in all my paintings.

Concept Development

This is a quick collage I created using photographs and then painting over them, the aim was to just get the right colours and how the shot will look. After it was turned into a greyscale thumbnail, with minor alterations.

These are just some alternative shots for the painting, looking at different angles and how they effect the scene.

Painting no.3- Idea development

This is the idea for the third Digital Painting, this one will incorporate a vast landscape. This is also experimenting with a more geometric simplistic style.
