The tale is also found in a number of other countries as well. One version which stood out as being a story of a race against Death, which is similar to the Brothers Grimm, is the original influence from Egypt. The main aspect which was intriguing was the constant paranoia of Death following the character, and how he tried to escape the personification of Death (Azrael).
